Kotor Municipality is Travelog's home for Kotor, inscribed by UNESCO in 1979 under criteria (i) through (iv), and placed on the List of World Heritage in Danger the same year after an earthquake seriously damaged the town's Romanesque churches and fortified walls, a genuine, documented 24-year recovery before removal from that list in 2003.

Kotor's 24-year Danger List stint, starting the same year as its own inscription, is worth knowing as documented history behind the walls visitors climb today, live below with its full landmark coverage.
