Escaldes-Engordany is the Andorran parish that contains most of the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, the UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape inscribed in 2004 under criterion (v). The valley itself, covering 4,247 hectares, about 9% of Andorra's total area, extends south into the neighboring parish of Sant Julià de Lòria, but its main trailheads are reached from Escaldes-Engordany.
Most visitors reach the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley through Escaldes-Engordany, the parish bordering Andorra la Vella. Its one live destination is covered below.
